The Dreamer Awakes

"It is the practice of spinning stories that have the rhythm and lilt of the local soundscape, tales for the tongue, tales that want to be told, again and again, sliding off the digital screen and slipping off the lettered page to inhabit these coastal forests, those desert canyons, those whispering grasslands and valleys and swamps. Finding phrases that place us in contact with the trembling neck-muscles of a deer holding its antlers high as it swims toward the mainland, or with the ant dragging a scavenged rice-grain through the grasses."

(Abram, Spell of the Sensuous, 1997, p.273-274)

I work at the intersection of ancestral memory, embodied practice, and creative healing - helping individuals and organisations navigate profound change through practices that reconnect us with breath, body wisdom, and ancestral knowledge. Like a spider's web - responsive, relational, constantly being woven and rewoven - my practice honours the connections between breath, body, ancestry, and the more-than-human world.

Grounded in doctoral research in trauma, body psychotherapy training, and 17+ years of practice, I offer transformative workshops, institutional programs, and one-to-one sessions.

FOR STORYTELLERS, WRITERS AND ARTISTS

ARE (Art, Research, Ecology)

Creative work doesn't emerge from the mind alone - it comes from something deeper, older, more mysterious. My ancestral practice workshops offer frameworks for accessing that source through breath work, embodied awareness, and practices that invite the wisdom moving through your lineage into your creative process, while creating change, magic, and hope for the future.

Whether you're working through creative blocks, seeking a deeper resonance with the world, or wanting to transform your creative practice, these workshops create space for community, care and genuine transformation.

FOR  ORGANISATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS

Organisations face unprecedented disruption - AI integration, ecological crisis, staff burnout, the erosion of human connection under technological pressure. My work addresses the deeper ancestral, embodied, and relational dimensions of collective resilience that conventional approaches miss.

I offer bespoke programmes in collective trauma literacy, embodied discernment practices for the AI age, and frameworks for navigating technological change with integrity and care.

ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

Individual sessions weaving together therapeutic support, ancestral practice, and creative guidance for those navigating major transitions, grief, creative thresholds, or seeking deeper connection with their lineage and life's work.

What makes my approach different?

My work integrates therapeutic depth with creative practice, trauma literacy, ancestral wisdom, academic rigour and embodied knowing. I call it "embodied kinship practice" - treating methodology itself as a living, responsive creative act always in flow, always shifting and changing, always in movement.

STORYTELLING

Storytelling is a powerful tool to address complex and difficult issues. Life-stories, fairytales, myths and legends are woven into every aspect of the work we do. Performance storytelling creates a rich and sociable event in a limitless variety of spaces, a shared experience to spur the imagination. Through storytelling we find a deeper understanding of each other, our pasts and ourselves.

Wonderful and generous workshops, thoughtfully prepared and led with care and passion by Anna. These workshops helped me to look into the heart of stories, to connect with them in new and deeper ways and developed my skills of telling in my own authentic and rooted voice."
